NEXTGen Detroit & CommunityNEXT
In recent years, the Detroit Federation has emerged as a leader in the engagement of the Gen X and Gen Y community. Now, with the establishment of NEXTGen Detroit, we have a new platform to attract, engage and retain the next generation of Jewish Detroiters. This new group brings together a variety of existing Federation programs focused on young Jewish Detroiters, including Community Birthright, CommunityNEXT, and the Young Adult Divi- sion (YAD). More than simply a combination of these efforts, NEXTGen is developing an entirely new model for building community within the 21 to 45-year old age group, supported by a range of new programs and initiatives. The goal is simple: Transformation. NEXTGen is working to make our city a vibrant and meaningful home for young Jews of every age, a place where meaning can be found in every facet of life, from professional to social, religious to cultural and more.

CommunityNEXT (CNXT) is the source for all things young and Jewish in the Metro Detroit scene. CNXT focuses on building community, education, expanding the lives of young adults socially, culturally and professionally. Through hosting social and professional events year round, CNXT is able to keep Next Generation adults connected to the Detroit community.

NextGen will assist in program development and help The Shul in its goal to assure that this program is an event that allows all members of the Detroit Jewish community to feel comfortable with a wide cross-section of the community celebrating Chanukah together.
